Value for a 9mm?

I have a Taurus PT111 Millenium Pro 3.25" barrel Stainless 9mm handgun that I'm looking to sale/trade. What should I ask for it? This gun is practically new--has had one or two mags fired through it flawlessly and then cleaned and stored. Comes with factory box, manual and two 12 rd mags. Here is a stock photo:

Anyone here interesting in buying or trading for something of equal value--like a box of ammo at the rate things are going....just kidding BTW. I'm looking for another nice CZ-52 and was thinking of offering to trade a dealer that has a nice re-park'd CZ-52. Thoughts???

These seem to go for $33x to $37x for a new one.

I would guess you could get $300-325, maybe a little more if the buyer isn't real knowledgeable about where to shop.

My daughter bought her husband a Taurus 24/7 Pro for xmas, she paid about $340 + tax for a new one.

Agree with elroy, you might be able to get ~$300 for it from a less than savvy buyer on a really good day and you probably could trade even up from a dealer, for a nice CZ-52.

OK, well here's the update. I took it back to the gun show today and looked at the CZ the dealer had. Unfortunately upon close examination the barrel was FILLED WITH RUST! Strange b/c the frame and such seemed to be in good order. I tried to get him to knock $100 or so off so that I could get a new barrel but he wouldn't budge, so I walked.

I ended up trading the Taurus for a Marlin 336-W in 30-30.

Thanks all.

Even If I didnt care for the Gun (Tarus pistols have a bad rep)

I would just hold on to it as a point of barter if nothing else.......if you have a complete set firearm +2 mags Realted tools papers and 2 boxes of ammo for good measure.

You will have something that can always be traded

At least that is my thinking.........but you know something has to said for consolidation as well.

Dam there so much pressure as of late.

You got a much better deal than trading for the CZ-52, even if it was in good condition. I'd make that trade in a heartbeat!

That was my thought too. Also, I got to thinking and some idiot probably shot a bunch of surplus ammo through the CZ w/o taking proper cleaning measures afterwards. I'm SURE the dealer knows this and probably gave some poor chap $50 for it....still ticks me off he wouldn't budge. I really want a pair of them and an ammo spam can to stash. Anyone have any experience with the Tokkarov's in same calibre? JG has a few in stock.

Also, I'm picking up a couple Sig P6's to have a 9mm in house. I felt it in hand and was amazed at the gun. Also, reviews are VERY good for that gun and accuracy. Seems like an incredible deal.

I don't own one in 7.62x25, and only know what I've read from fellow collectors. The Tokarev TT pistol is said to be a nice, thin pistol. I've never read about any brittle firing pin problems with the TT, as you do with the CZ52.

Depending on who you believe, the TT is either more robust or much wimpier than the CZ52 in terms of its ability to handle overpressure cartridges. I believe the folks who say it's more robust (due to barrel chamber design, steel thickness, less unsupported area of the case). I've read multiple reports from folks I trust, telling about how they've had CZ52 pistols mangled (bulged/cracked slides) from defective ammo, while a Tokarev just kept firing.

Over the years, I've seen Polish & Russian TT pistols (maybe Romanian too -, but I can't remember). You occasionally see pistols brought back from Vietnam. I believe the original TT pistols had no safety. In order to meet import requirements ("for the children"), some beautiful pistols are bastardized by adding a mechanical safety.

I've got a Norinco 213, the 9x19 (Luger) version of the TT. Very nice trigger pull, disassembly reminds me a lot of the Colt 1911. The grip feels a bit weird/slippery in my hands - not as secure as the CZ52 pistol. I'm sure this could be improved with some Agrip or rubber inner tubing.

If you can't get a CZ52, I think a Tokarev pistol would serve you well.
